The EMPHASIS seminar (School of Advanced Studies – University of London) focuses on the history of early modern philosophy, broadly construed, and the history of early modern science, including the occult sciences. For the next session, Boris Jardine (University of Cambridge) will give a talk on “Machines, mines and mathematics: Elizabethan artisans as agents of change”.
